✨ Introduction: The Quiet Voice We’ve Been Taught to Ignore
Have you ever had a gut feeling about something—only to brush it aside, then later wish you hadn’t? Or maybe there is that little voice guiding you to take action but you keep pushing it down only to have it surface again later? What if that little voice is the exact answer you need or the exact path YOU are meant to take?
As moms, we’re constantly bombarded with opinions, expert advice, and societal expectations. It’s hard to even scroll through social media without being quickly absorbed by the noise telling us what we need, telling us what we “should do”, what to do or buy to make us look and feel our best. And sadly, this noise keeps us stuck in lack and comparison, it keeps us chasing shiny objects and quick fixes that never make us feel the way we are deeply longing for. That deep longing that our intuition knows and is trying to guide us to!
It's easy to start doubting our own voice and abandon our own inner knowing. But here’s the truth: your intuition is always there, always guiding you. And the more you listen, the more peace, clarity, and happiness you’ll find.
In this post, I’ll share why listening to your intuition matters so much (especially in motherhood), how to strengthen it, and how this one shift can ripple into every part of your life.
💡 What Is Intuition, Really, and How to Hear Your Unique Intuitive Voice?
Intuition is that deep, inner knowing. I like to say it is the wise woman within, our soul speaking to, and guiding, us. It’s not loud. It doesn’t shout. It is not rooted in fear. It is solid, sturdy and gentle.
We all experience our intuition differently and when we understand how our intuition speaks to us, it gets easier to hear it. There are four main types of intuition:
Clairvoyance - Being able to see something that is not in your physical reality.
Clairaudience - A knowing received through hearing voices, sounds, etc.
Clairsentience - Being deeply empathic. Sensing others emotions and feelings within yourself.
Claircognizance - Simply “just knowing”. This could also be a feeling about something. You just know even though you don’t know how!
Which one resonates with you?
Start to notice how your intuition speaks to you because it is different for each of us. Do you often get a “gut feeling” about something? Maybe you walk into a room and can instantly feel the intensity of the emotions in the room even though no one has spoken a word yet. Maybe you have more psychic abilities. Or maybe you had them in the past but pushed them down thinking they were “crazy”. It’s time to let them come to the surface again!
Don’t worry if you’re not sure or maybe you think you just don’t have a strong intuition. I’ll talk about how to cultivate a deeper connection to your intuition below!
We all have an intuition. For millennia the human species has relied on intuition to survive — but in this modern world, many of us have been taught to override it in favor of societal norms, logic, people-pleasing, or perfectionism. In motherhood, your intuition can become quite easy to spot, it often shows up in small moments:
Feeling a gentle nudge to slow down, even when your to-do list is overflowing.
Making a decision about your child that goes against the mainstream but feels right for your family.
Saying “yes” to something your soul lights up for—even if it makes no sense on paper or to the people around you.
The more we listen, the stronger it becomes. I like to think of it like this, when we listen and trust ourselves we send out a signal to the Universe that we are ready to be in deeper communion with the way Spirit wants to move through us, so we receive more intuitive nudges and synchronicities that follow. I believe magick is in those synchronicities!
💖 Why Intuition Matters for Moms
When you’re deeply connected to your intuition, you parent from a place of presence—not pressure.
You lead your family from truth, not from trends.
You find your rhythm, instead of constantly comparing yourself to everyone else.
In short: you feel more like you.
More grounded. More confident. More fulfilled.
We are all here having our own unique journeys and we are meant to experience the fullness and richness of that journey, yet it is so easy to get caught up in just following what everyone else seems to be doing.
In showing up and living life in a way that feels good to you, you move with love and presence. Your relationships are stronger. Your family is better because of it. You teach and lead through your own embodiment. The people that matter most to you understand that they can also live a life that feels much more meaningful and purposeful. And I imagine if you are still here reading this, that is way more important than the surface level stuff and trying to keep up with the Joneses and following paths that society tells us we should but that actually make us feel quite unfulfilled and inadequate.
And while it is great to be the best mom we can be and show up for all of the people we care about, this is also about YOUR life and your journey and trusting yourself, trusting life, surrendering to the way in which Spirit wants to move through you. This is the thing that will give you a deeper sense of connection, joy, satisfaction and peace. It will light you up in the way you are deeply craving and your soul knows it. This is the magick you seek and your soul is trying to guide you there!
🔮 5 Ways to Strengthen Your Intuition (Even with a Busy Mom Brain)
If your intuition feels fuzzy or far away right now, that’s okay. These gentle practices will help you reconnect:
1. Slow Down! Your intuition needs space to be heard!
It is so easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of our daily lives and we quickly get caught up on the hamster wheel just going about our days, reacting to what gets thrown our way when what we are craving is something much more intentional and purposeful.
When we prioritize slowing down, and this really requires giving ourselves permission to do so, we start to tune into what our body and its wisdom is trying to say. We cannot hear or feel this when we are constantly rushing from one thing to the next.
✨ Try this! Make quiet moments sacred. Try carving out just 5-10 minutes a day with no phone, no noise, no multitasking.
Light a candle and just be with your breath and the moment.
Prioritize getting outside for before lunch to slow down and reconnect.
Set a timer for various points of your day to remind you to come back to the present moment. Take 10 slow, deep breaths focusing fully on your breathing.
2. Journal with Intention
Ask yourself simple, soul-led questions like:
“What do I need to know today?”
“What’s been trying to get my attention?”
“What do I already know, that I don’t want to admit to knowing?”
“Where am I feeling nudged?”
“What’s not working right now?”
Let your pen move without editing. You’ll be surprised what surfaces.
3. Listen to your body - It holds the wisdom!
When you slow down and prioritize stillness and space you can begin to notice:
Where you feel light or heavy
When your stomach tightens or heart lifts
What choices bring calm versus anxiety
✨ Try this if you want to go deeper! As you notice how your body feels you can begin a conversation with your body’s wisdom. For example, simply ask your calm heart, “What do you want me to know?”. Feeling anxious or overwhelmed? Find that part of the body and ask “what’s really going on?”
4. Get Curious and Test it Out - Oftentimes we have become so used to overriding our intuition that subconsciously we have almost come to be afraid of it. We have been taught that our logical mind knows more or knows better but studies, stories and personal experience are proving something quite different.
Our intuition is like a muscle that needs to be strengthened and stretched again. And the more you do this the easier it gets.
✨ Try this! Follow the First Nudge - Often, your first instinct is your clearest one. The more you practice acting on those nudges (even in small ways), the more your trust in yourself grows.
Maybe you just dropped the kids off at school and you get the idea to stop in that cute little coffee shop to grab a scone on your way home. Typically you would say that is frivolous or unnecessary or you don’t have time but today you get curious and say “why not”!
I have a really fun, synchronistic story to inspire you even more! I got the flu this spring followed by a terrible sinus infection and I lost my sense of taste for over a month. I kept wanting to go to this cute French cafe in my neighborhood to sit and work and have a coffee and breakfast but I wanted to be able to enjoy the experience when I could actually taste it again! My taste had finally come back and even though I had a ‘busy week’, I said “yes” when I got the nudge to stop in on a Friday morning.
I noticed the girl helping me at the counter was French and when she later walked past my table I waived her over. I absolutely love France and have been wanting to get my kids French tutoring but it has just been something fun in the back of my mind, not something I have spent time actively looking for.
When she came over we chatted, I even spoke a little of my mediocre French to her, and she told me that she just moved to the US one week ago and today was literally her very first day working at the cafe. Best part, she was interested in tutoring my kids!
It was so fun, so effortless so synchronistic, it felt like magick and it gave me the biggest high for the rest of the day. I know it may not seem like some grand experience but when you start stringing these synchronistic experiences together every day, you certainly start to understand how magickal YOU are!
✨ Goose bumps alert. I literally received a text from this French woman JUST after I finished typing this paragraph. You cannot make this up. I have not talked to her since that first interaction. Trust the way life is showing up for you. I promise it holds exactly what you seek. 💕
5. Create a Daily Ritual
This could be a card pull, a morning check-in, lighting a candle and dancing around or simply pausing with a hand over your heart. The ritual itself doesn’t matter as much as the devotion to your inner voice. Simply giving yourself this space and time is key and allowing whatever wants to bubble up to the surface for your guidance.
OK, so I have one more…
6. Reflect - The more we notice how and where our intuition showed up and guided us, it is easier to attune to it. At the end of the day or start of the next, reflect on where you heard your intuition. Did you trust it and take action or did you dismiss it?
Go a bit deeper. If you trusted it and took action, what happened? Maybe nothing “seemingly” special happened but that is not true! You trusted yourself. You surrendered to something bigger than yourself. And that is the magick! Keep going. If you dismissed it, why? What’s coming up for you? Know that we never need to judge ourselves, simply get curious. Life always presents us with exactly what we need for our own growth and journey. Trust that!
🌈 Intuition = Happiness (Here’s Why)
When we live in alignment with our inner voice, life feels easier—not because it’s perfect, but because it’s true.
You stop second-guessing.
You stop overcommitting.
You stop comparing.
You start feeling peace, even in imperfection.
And while those are the beautiful side effects of living in alignment, the alignment itself is the secret to our happiness. Aligning to our truth is feeling our inherent connection with the Divine, the Divine that is not separate from us but that lives within us. And when we finally come to realize that everything we were seeking outside of ourselves actually lives in every cell inside of ourselves, we connect to the wholeness of ourselves. We have enough. We are enough. This connection makes you come alive in ways you did not before realize were even possible.
This is the path to self actualization and true surrender and the fulfillment that comes when you let go of control and begin to allow the Divine to move through you, you being to allow LOVE to move through you, in the exact way it is meant to in this lifetime.
This takes you on the most beautiful journey which brings an unmatched level of happiness that cannot be found anywhere else. And the best part, this already lives in you! You already have exactly what it takes to experience this, to feel this deeply connected and fulfilled!
🧘♀️ Final Thoughts: You Already Know
You don’t need to be more spiritual, more educated, or more organized to access your intuition.
You just need to slow down and listen.
It’s already inside you—whispering, guiding, waiting for you to come home.
